Negotiation Seminar

April 30, 2021 - May 1, 2021

Copy of 2022 Negotiation

Train to become a highly effective AAML negotiator

Negotiation, one of the most crucial lawyering skills, can be learned.  Most experienced family law lawyers have only learned to negotiate by the school of hard knocks.  Learning to negotiate solely from experience has limitations.

Do you ever wonder why a negotiation failed?  What you could have done better?  Is there a way to deal with that personality disordered opposing party or intransigent, untrustworthy opposing counsel?   Are you dissatisfied when your client has spent his or her life savings in protracted litigation that decimates both parties financially?

American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) offers this signature program as it was originally conceived and developed in conjunction with internationally known scholars of the Harvard Law School.  This highly sought out program on Negotiation is an AAML offering in alternating years.

It is a highly focused, interactive program centered on teaching proven theories of negotiation.  Experienced family law lawyers will learn how to improve their negotiation skills in this program, led by experts in the field of complex negotiation and strategy.  In addition to lectures, participants will work in the small group settings to explore and expand their negotiating skills, using techniques taught in the program. The program is designed to help experienced family law attorneys develop strategies for improving both their negotiation skills and outcomes for their clients.

The Seminar is conducted with an exceptionally high standard of experienced speakers and trainers and using an interactive format with role play, lectures and collaborative sessions working in small groups, focusing on the skills required to become a highly effective negotiator.

Completing this program enables Fellows to be awarded an AAML negotiation certificate.
