Costa Rica Midyear Meeting

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and is looking forward to a healthy and prosperous new year. We are really gearing up for the midyear meeting in Costa Rica. Remember that even though the hotel sold out in ten days, we expect some cancellations. So if you are still interested in attending make sure you email Janice or Vicki at the home office (office@aaml.org) and they will put you on the waiting list (if we don't already have a room available for you).

A few reminders. All of the registration materials are on this website. Go to the calendar and click on the midyear meeting entry and you will see all of the registration materials. Print them out at your leisure. You will also be getting them by snail mail in the next week or so (along with the hard copies of the "How To's" Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn - which I hope EVERYONE has joined by now).

Heed the warning with regards to passports: Your passport CANNOT expire before three months after your Costa Rican trip (July 1 to be safe) or you will NOT be allowed in the country. Also you should bring with you proof of a return trip just in case you are asked.

We encourage everyone to sign up for the bus ride to and from the airport and the Marriott. Rental cars are available, but they are expensive and not always "in stock." When you get to the hotel you can also rent a car, although we will have transportation for all excursions you may want to take.

We were able to reduce the registration fee from $850 to $795 because of the lower cost of food at the hotel. Also, guest registration fees have been reduced from $125 to $95.  If you already registered at the higher rate, you will be given a refund. You will also be able to eat breakfast in the restaurant with your friends and families if you want at no charge the same days we have breakfast available for you outside the CLE (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday).

Also, this year instead of a night activity the day before our Farewell Dinner, we are going to have a family pool  picnic. Should be lots of fun. Why waste the Costa Rican sun!

I am so much enjoying my time visiting various Chapters across the country. I have attended Virginia, Maryland, and Massachusetts chapter events and I have many more meetings planned throughout the year. Remember that if you wish for me or any officer to attend a chapter function, just ask. We are truly here to serve you.

And I appreciate feedback. Are you getting too many emails from me (and you should know that I am actually restraining myself!)? Do you like the blog? Do you like Facebook, Twitter, and/or LinkedIn? Lots more changes in store for you and your AAML over the next year. Hopefully all good and to the benefit of the Fellowship. Once again, I am honored to be serving as your President. But I am YOUR president, so let me know if I can help you in any manner.

Have a great and safe New Year's celebration! Ken
