AAML 2012 Midyear Meeting registration materials

I am so excited that after all of our planning, we are sending out the registration materials for the 2012 AAML Midyear meeting in Costa Rica. If you preregistered for a hotel room, you will get an email with all of the registration materials attached. This includes the registration form, information on the spouse / guest activity (a wonderful river ride replete with crocodiles and scarlet macaws), a form for bus transportation to and from the airport and the Marriott Los Suenos, and, of course the most important form of all, the AAML Costa Rica Golf Tournament at the beautiful La Iguana course!

If you have not preregistered, you will receive an email blast that provides you with a link to our website, where you can go and print out all of the necessary registration forms. Even though we have sold out the hotel, we anticipate some cancellations and hope to insure everyone who wants to come to the meeting will have a roof over their head. And there are still condos around the hotel available for booking.

In the next week or so you will also receive the registration materials by snail mail. Included in this mailing (to save money of course) is the hard copy of the "How To's" (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn) that we sent out by email over the past several weeks. This will conclude our introduction of the AAML excursion into social networking. I hope by now you have "liked" the AAML Facebook page, you are following the AAML on Twitter, and you have joined LinkedIn. If you have any questions about our new social networking connections, feel free to call or email me at your convenience. ken@portlandlegal.net. I always welcome your emails!

Next week (I am restraining myself to one blog a week!) you will get an email with an attachment outlining all of the activities available for your enjoyment in Costa Rica. We will give you the contact information for our travel partners, TAM Travel, who will be responsible for booking any activity you wish to schedule in advance.

A couple of final notes. Don't forget that your passport must be valid until at least July 1, 2012. If your passport is scheduled to expire within three months of your arrival in Costa Rica, you will be sent back home on the next plane. Also you should bring proof of having booked your return flight.

I had a wonderful time with the Massachusetts AAML chapter. I was invited to their Holiday party last week (thank you Marc Cooper!) and enjoyed the tremendous turn out of Fellows and potential applicants. It was nice to meet my neighbors to the south.

Finally, thank you for all the positive comments I have received in response to my blogs. My goal is to improve communication among all of the Fellows and have a forum to let you know everything you want to know about chapter activities across the country. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and I will wish you a Happy New Year next week!
